In most modern apartments, especially in Tbilisi, the main trend is a combined living room and kitchen . This layout visually increases the space and makes it much brighter, although it requires proper zoning.
Fillet Studio offers some professional advice and our own work on how to create the perfect shared room.

As you can see in our projects, it is not necessary to build partitions to divide the space.
Furniture: A sofa with its back facing the kitchen naturally separates the sitting area from the dining area.
Rug: A large rug visually defines the boundaries of the "living room."
Island: A kitchen island is the ultimate barrier that is both functional and aesthetic.

A large space needs a variety of lighting. We use:
Track lighting or "spots" for general lighting.
Hanging lights above the dining table (which creates coziness).
Decorative floor lamps by the sofa, for reading and relaxing.

In the case of a small space, we prefer light, pastel colors (white, beige, light gray), which give the room a more clean and airy feel.
For contrast, we use wood textures and dark accents (for example, black metal details or an accent wall by the TV).
